Pulling Yourself out of the Applicant Pool

In today’s failing economy, I often hear the following comments from my distressed peers:
“What am I going to do when I graduate?”
“Will mom and dad let me move home if I can’t pay rent?”
To avoid unemployment upon graduation, I suggest that college students learn two skills:
Flipping burgers.
Handling a mop.

From Facebook Walls to Bathroom Stalls

Slurs about women screamed at me from the inside of the stall door. I was bombarded by rude scribbled sayings followed by these philosophical statements:
“When we divide and objectify ourselves, we give them the tools to conquer us.”
“Sweetie, men aren’t the enemy, other women are.”
Was the vandalism just a byproduct of Chico State students’ [...]
